Newbie Questions

Postby jelang » 07 Jun 2010 22:31

Where can I find a document that says how to use xchat?

Is there a way in xchat to suppress the administrative messages such as:

nick1 (internet_location) has joined #channel
nick1 is now known as nick2
nick2 has quit (text)

Thank you for being patient.

for the first and third question Jelang, right click on the channel and choose Settings. Click "hide join/part messages."

to hide UserX is now known as UserY:
Settings > advanced > text events

highlight "change nick"
in text box below, highlight that text and delete
press enter
click "ok"

a User, temp01, helped me with this on Freenode's #xchat
