Hi guys ,

Problem no 1

i m looking for a script which will look for specific words in channel and show a notification in tray popup with that line and nick , maybe with a beep or some blinks and log the whole line with nick into a different Tab

may be like this

User type my nick like , Hey poor

Script match the word from text file ( a file where i can add all words which should be watched )

show a popup msg with whole line + nick name and log that nick and whole line into another tab

i dont want to use it for specific nick or Chanel , it should watch every channel or selected chans, which is opened in xchat


Problem no 2

i need a another script which will show msgs of allowed nicks and block other ones without notifying them

a block in my xchat only

like i wan to see msg from one user only , so i can allow one and block all others

script ask for allowed nicks only and ban others





it can be in python or perl, i want to run it on Ubuntu

i m complete nooob,don't know how to code anything ,

This is my humble request , please help

1) Most of what you are requesting is already doable in a base install of XChat. Simply go to Settings -> Preferences -> Alerts and look at the options there. Highlights by default just use your own nick, but you can have additional words cause highlight events using the extra words to highlight on, separating words with commas and no spaces.

If you wish to log the highlight lines to another tab, there are several scripts for this, including mine: http://orvp.net/xchat.php?showhighlight

2) You want ignores on DCC. Set an ignore for DCC to *!*@*, and then add exemptions for the nicks you wish to restore, see http://t0x.in/xchatignore.html
