problem installing xchat on suse!!

im having a problem installing xchat onto suse i keep getting this C errors whatever when i do ./configure but where can i find the newer ver of xchat at for suse??

im using suse 9.1 personal and i keep getting this when i do ./configure
linux:~/Desktop/xchat-2.4.0 # ./configure

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

you should install the gcc compiler.
I think it'll work better. :)

suse personal does not come with build tools. suse professional does.

why dont you just use an rpm for installing xchat?

im getting this now, how can i fixed this, i try the rpm it didnt want to install :
