Connection Refused

Hi folks, sorry but I realize that this is a total n00b post, but I haven't found the solution to my problem.

I've been trying to connect to various servers with no luck:

Looking up irc.2600.net
* Connecting to irc.2600.net (208.111.35.75) port 6667...
* Connection failed. Error: Connection refused
Cycling to next server in 2600net...
* Disconnected ().
* Looking up irc.2600.net
* Connecting to irc.2600.net (66.252.30.122) port 6667...
* Connection failed. Error: Connection refused

Windows firewall has accepted Xchat before you ask, and I'm running Windows Vista. I'm not that familiar with port forwarding, so I don't know if that's the problem or what. Help please and thanks?

i think that something wrong with their service, after few attempts my xchat connected:

so i think that you need to wait till it connect or thy the one that i connected: bartholomew.2600.net as a main server
