Currently, when XChat opens a new tab or window for a channel or incoming message, the text starts at the top of the text area. It continues down until it reaches the bottom and then begins to scroll up, with the bottom line being the most recent.
I always have XChat open, and while gaming in windowed mode with the game taking up the majority of the screen only the bottom portion of XChat's window is visible. This presents a problem, however, because in order to see any new text I have to alt+tab so the top portion of the text area is visible.
My request would be for an option to add new text to the bottom of the text area and continue scrolling up in the normal fashion. That way I don't have to alt+tab to read a private message or subsequent responses in channels that haven't filled the entire text area.
I hope this makes sense.

It does make sense.
I've always kind of wondered why Xchat adds text to empty tabs from the top-down. I would expect (and prefer) new lines to appear at the bottom of the window and move up, just like they would if the window was already full of text.

) to get used to Xchat, as other clients (afaik) have text scrolling from bottom to up
