ipv6 issues

Postby motzmo » 15 Aug 2012 01:14

Hello, i'm having following problems using xchat 2.8.9 on Windows 7 pro.

Issue №I

Got ipv6 and ipv4 IPs running correctly, ping -6 works just fine for IRC server which have an IPv6 addr.
Xchat would not lookup an AAAA entry even with /dns command, it always returns only A record.
Or as reverse, sometimes it finds IPv6 randomly and connects while i dont want IPv6

It would be very nice to have options like '-6'/'-4' included at /server || /sslserver commands, so we can tell to program which proto to use

Issue №II
Another issue is when i trying to indicate V6 address directly at /server or /sslserver command, i getting file-write error that log file cannot be created which is unable to close. Need to kill a program then start again.

Hope you understand and correct these logic errors
