1) what settings need to be set(and how) to get file transfers between people in one room? right-click on nick and Send a File made a mark in chat list but receiver saw nothing..

2) what is Open Dialog Window for? i thought it's something like a private chat, but no text come through to my chat-partner. is there something need to be set to use this? yet, what does buttons Send, Chat, Ping do?- here it seems they do nothing.

simple connecting to server and room went well. i'm quite new to an irc and xchat, so sorry for fool questions. search and faq didn't answer these.

DCC is used for file transfer over IRC,

DCC stands for Direct Client Connect.

• Direct Client-to-Client
• XDCC

There can be a number of reasons why DCC won't work, starting with the simple ones to do with your ISP and the IP address, to: "Why doesn't DCC send work behind a router (IPNat/ADSL)?"
